In contemporary times addictions are present in almost every spheres of people's lives. There are many different kinds of addictions, for instance: alcoholism, workoholism or even shopaholism. Now the question arises whether everything can be a drug and is it actually possible that everyone is addicted.
Many people claim that one of the aspects of addictions is connected with people's emotional site. Drugs and alcohol are a common cure for family problems, lack of money, professional failures, loneliness or boredom. They strongly believe that these things are able to solve all their problems and make them happy.
The second very important dimension of the case is television, which may become equally addictive as drugs. Nowadays people more and more often are becoming "coach potatoes" and simply can not resist watching programmes. Especially young people are prone to exaggerate with the television which makes a lot of harm to their brains. And the last, yet not the least important is the fact that addictions like workoholism or shopaholism are becoming even more and more common. In shopaholism are especially involved women, who feel the overwhelming need so as to buy something. Very often all the purchases are completely useless. Whereas workoholism is mostly the domain of men, for whom their job and competition are the only passions.
However, despite all these addictions, there are still people who appreciate more a good book rather than a television programme and more relaxing for them is a walk in the park than a trip to the shop.
To sum up, in every one of us, there is a little part despising the consumerism of this world. The most important thing is to discover it, as any drug or addiction will not make the world easier.

I always try to make distance with every activities I do. I think the best way not to be adictive is keeping a journal that what time you want to watch TV, work, shopping, walk and study? I think it will help to manage everything because once the people become addictive to something, they messed up many things that should have to done on time.
ReplyDeleteI am the one who is always late because I always take more than I can do it. I like to do so many things at the same time. Sometimes is very bad to be like that
